Getting Started with Sellvy — Your Complete Setup Guide
Go from zero to your first sale in under 10 minutes. This guide walks you through creating your account, setting up your store, adding products, configuring payments, and making your first sale on Sellvy.
Whether you are launching your first digital product or migrating an existing store, Sellvy makes it easy to start selling. This guide covers everything from account creation to your first sale.
Step 1: Create Your Account
Head to sellvy.io and click Get Started Free. You can sign up with your email address or use Google OAuth for a one-click setup.
Once you confirm your email, you will be taken directly to the onboarding wizard. No credit card is required — Sellvy's free plan gives you everything you need to start selling immediately.
The Onboarding Wizard
The onboarding wizard walks you through five quick steps:
- Store Setup — Choose your store name, pick a subdomain (like
yourname.sellvy.io), upload a logo, and tell us about your expected revenue so we can tailor recommendations. - Store Visibility — Decide whether your store is public (visible to everyone), hidden (only accessible via direct link), or private (completely locked down).
- Payment Setup — Connect Stripe for card payments, add your PayPal email, or enable cryptocurrency payments through SellvyPay.
- Theme Selection — Pick from 10 professionally designed themes. Each theme sets the color palette for your storefront. You can customize everything later.
- Completion — Celebrate with confetti, choose your plan, and head to your dashboard.
You can skip any step and come back to it later in Settings.
Step 2: Set Up Your Store
After completing the onboarding wizard, your store is live at yourname.sellvy.io. Here is how to customize it further.
Store Branding
Navigate to Settings → Store to configure:
- Store name and description — These appear in your storefront header and in search engine results.
- Logo and banner — Upload your brand assets. Recommended sizes: logo 256x256px, banner 1200x400px.
- Announcement bar — Display a message at the top of your storefront, perfect for promotions or important notices.
- SEO settings — Customize your meta title, description, and social sharing image.
Custom Domain
On the Pro plan and above, you can connect your own domain. Go to Settings → Store → Custom Domain, enter your domain, and add the CNAME record we provide to your DNS settings. Verification usually takes a few minutes.
Store Visibility Controls
Beyond the basic public/hidden/private toggle, you can also:
- Enable password protection to gate your store behind a password.
- Turn on maintenance mode to temporarily take your store offline while you make changes.
Step 3: Add Your First Product
Click Products in the sidebar, then hit the New Product button. Sellvy supports five product types:
Digital Download
Upload any file — PDFs, ZIP archives, images, audio, video — and Sellvy handles secure delivery. After purchase, customers get a unique download link with configurable download limits.
To set up a digital download:
- Enter a title, description, and price.
- Upload your file in the Files section.
- Set the maximum number of downloads per purchase (default: unlimited).
- Optionally add a delivery delay if you want to stagger access.
Serial Key / License
Perfect for software licenses, game keys, gift cards, or any text-based deliverable. You upload your keys in bulk and Sellvy delivers one per purchase automatically.
To set up serial key delivery:
- Create your product with the "Serial Key" type.
- Go to the Stock tab and paste your keys, one per line.
- Sellvy will show your available stock count and automatically deliver keys in order.
- When stock runs low, you will receive a notification.
Service
For consulting, design work, tutoring, or any service that requires manual fulfillment. After purchase, you will receive a notification with the customer's details.
Subscription
Recurring billing for memberships, SaaS products, or ongoing access. Choose from weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly intervals. Sellvy handles all the billing logic through Stripe.
Dynamic Delivery
For advanced use cases, dynamic products call your webhook URL after each purchase. Your server generates the deliverable on the fly — perfect for unique license keys, personalized content, or API-generated assets.
Step 4: Configure Payments
Sellvy supports three payment methods, and you can enable any combination.
Stripe (Card Payments)
This is the most common setup. Go to Settings → Payments and click Connect with Stripe. You will be redirected to Stripe's onboarding flow. Once connected, you can accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
Funds go directly to your Stripe account — Sellvy never holds your money.
PayPal
Enter your PayPal email in Settings → Payments. Customers who choose PayPal will be directed to complete payment there, and funds land in your PayPal account.
SellvyPay (Cryptocurrency)
Accept Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies with zero processing fees. Funds go directly to your own wallets — no intermediary. See our SellvyPay Guide for detailed setup instructions.
Step 5: Customize Your Storefront
Themes
Sellvy offers 10 built-in themes, each with a unique color palette. Go to Settings → Store → Theme to switch themes. The change applies instantly.
Custom CSS
For advanced customization, you can inject custom CSS via Settings → Store → Custom CSS. This lets you override any style on your storefront without touching the theme files.
SEO
Each product has its own SEO fields (title, description). For store-level SEO, go to Settings → Store and fill in the meta title, description, and social sharing image. Sellvy automatically generates Open Graph and Twitter Card tags.
Step 6: Make Your First Sale
Your store is set up, your product is live, and payments are configured. Now share your store link.
Direct Product Links
Every product has a shareable link: yourname.sellvy.io/product-slug. Share this on social media, embed it in emails, or link it from your website.
Embeddable Buy Buttons
On the Pro plan, you can generate embeddable buy buttons and product cards. Go to Settings → Integrations → Embeds to get the code snippet.
Order Management
When a customer makes a purchase, you will see it in your Orders dashboard. From there you can:
- View order details, payment method, and delivery status.
- Issue full or partial refunds.
- Resend delivery emails.
- Flag suspicious orders for review.
Analytics
Your dashboard shows real-time analytics: revenue, orders, conversion rate, top products, and traffic sources. Use this data to optimize your pricing and marketing.
